Behind The Scenes:
Eye2Sky

Eye2Sky has been in
the studio recording
new songs for their
album. The release
date is yet to be
announced, but we do
know that a few of the
new songs are different
than anything Eye2Sky
has ever done before.
Once the CD is out, we
would love to have your
feedback. And if you
want Eye2Sky for your
special event or Church
event, then you better
schedule them soon.
Because Eye2Sky’s
schedule is filling up
quickly for the spring
and summer. Eye2Sky
would love to play for
everyone’s events, but
for the members health
and sanity, they try not
to schedule
performances more
than twice or three
times a weekend. And
scheduling Eye2Sky at
least two weeks in
advance is appreciated.
Last minute scheduling
sometimes does not
work, because of
members job
schedules, but Eye2Sky
will try their best to play
for you in a pinch…
Being In The Presence
Of God
(Excerpt from “Mere
Christianity” by C. S.
Lewis)

“Whenever we find that
our religious life is
making us feel that we
are good---above all, that
we are better than
someone else---I think we
may be sure that we are
being acted on, not by
God, but by the devil.
The real test, of being in
the presence of God ,is
that you either forget
about yourself altogether
or see yourself as a
small, dirty object. It is
better to forget about
yourself altogether.”

To forget one-self is a
hard thing to do. We all
like to focus on
ourselves. What shall “I”
do today? What shall “I”
wear? What do “I” want
for breakfast? Before we
know it, the I’s consume
most of our thoughts and
actions. If we continue to
let the I’s lead,
we very slowly begin to
think that I comes before
THEM, and THEY, and
OTHERS. We begin to
think that I AM the only
one who matters, and I
AM better than others.
Thinking, in this manner,
puts us below everyone
else. The adversary,
satan, wants us to be
selfish and to think only
of ourselves. Those who
dwell on themselves are
miserable people. They
are never happy. True
happiness comes from
caring for others and
serving God. When we
finally give ourselves
away, there is enough
room for the presence of
God to dwell within us.
Before, it was to crowded
with ME, MYSELF and I.
When, in the presence of
God, let us remember
from where we came and
were we would be going
if not for Jesus Blood.
That should keep us
humble.

Israel Tour November
2010

Eye2Sky just recently
returned from a tour of
the Holy Land. They
were the pre-show for
the drama/dance
production of
“Redeemed: The Story
of Ruth, Naomi and
Boaz.” A play written by
Sabrina Grey and
directed by Eye2Sky
member, Adra V.
Cooper. The band
played a total of six
performances in Israel,
including: Tiberius
     Bethlehem
     Arad
     Tel Aviv
And 2xs on the outskirts
of Tel Aviv…
It was a wonderful trip,
but also a very tiring
one. Since band
members and actors
had to carry around
instruments, speakers,
costumes, props,
backdrops, etc. Also the
music and production
had to change to suit
the audience for which it
was played. In
Bethlehem and Tel Aviv,
the audiences were
unbelievers, and had to
be strictly Old
Testament. In
Bethlehem, they could
use Jesus’ name, but
no
references to Israel or
Judaism, because they
were performing for an
Arab girls school. In
Tiberius, it was a
messianic community,
so they could use
Jesus’ name. The
penalty for proselytizing
children in Israel is that
you can be arrested
and thrown in jail, so
the group was careful
not to use the wrong
production on certain
audiences. They thank
the Lord, that no one
was arrested and that
each group they
performed for loved the
music and the
production. Eye2Sky
was also privileged to
sing with a group of
Christian college
students from California
on Ben Yehuda., a
public street outside of
Jerusalem. Could they
have been arrested for
singing Jesus name on
a public street? Yes,
but God was with them
and they were able to
sing their song, “Jesus,
King of Glory” on Ben
Yehuda Street. Below
are pictures from this
amazing journey. And if
you ever have a
chance to go to Israel,
do not hesitate. It is
really the adventure of
a lifetime!
